Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 199:105)

It is always intriguing to hear people say, “I can’t read the Bible because there are too many contradictions”. How true it is that the people who say this have not read the Bible. There are people who have read the Bible daily for ten, twenty, thirty or more years and have found absolutely no contradictions. Psalm 119 explains how the Bible is “like a light to our path” in this world. God’s Word is our source of Truth. Suddenly, as the Bible is illuminated to us, things happening in the world begin to make sense like they never did before. The Christian develops a peace knowing that the Bible is true and can be trusted. Events prophesied in the Bible centuries ago are coming true today. Not only that, but correct doctrine can lead you and your family to salvation/eternal life.  The Bible really is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. This year in 2013, would you make it one of your New Year’s resolutions to read the Bible?  You will never regret it. “Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you” (1 Timothy 4:16).  “Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures” (Luke 24:45).
